How it is calculated
The calculator counts full years between your date of birth and today, then the remaining full months, then the remaining days. The next birthday is the next time the same month and day occurs.
Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate my exact age?
Subtract your birth year from the current year, then subtract one year if your birthday has not happened yet this year. The calculator does this and also works out the extra months and days.
What if I was born on February 29?
Leap day birthdays come only every four years. In other years, many places treat the birthday as February 28 or March 1, depending on local rules.
Why might another site show a different number of days?
Months have different lengths, so methods for counting the leftover days vary slightly. The years and months are the same everywhere.
